Vadodara, February 17, 2025 – The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued their dominant streak in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 with a resounding victory over the Delhi Capitals.
Skipper Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a blistering half-century, guiding her team to a comfortable chase and their second win in as many matches.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first at the Kotambi Stadium. Despite a strong start in the powerplay, they struggled to maintain momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals.
RCB’s bowlers, led by a disciplined Renuka Singh, restricted Delhi to a total of 141/10 in 19.3 overs.
Chasing a modest target, RCB got off to a flying start, thanks to a destructive opening partnership between Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
Mandhana was in sublime form, smashing boundaries all around the ground. Her innings of 81 runs off just 47 balls included 10 fours and 3 sixes, leaving the Delhi bowlers clueless.
Wyatt-Hodge played a perfect supporting role, scoring 42 runs off 33 balls.
The duo added 107 runs for the first wicket in just 10.5 overs, making the chase look effortless.
Richa Ghosh finished off the innings in style with a six, as RCB reached the target of 142/2 in just 16.2 overs.
With this win, RCB have now climbed to the top of the WPL 2025 points table with 4 points from 2 matches.
